Canadian Retire — Privacy Policy

Effective September 20, 2026

In short: Canadian Retire does not collect, send, or share any information about you. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your device.

Who we are

Canadian Retire (“the app”) is published by Dave Pickles (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at jimmy@askjimmy.ca.

What information the app handles

To do its calculations, the app asks you to type in details such as your ages, salary, account balances, pension amounts and spending goal, and it lets you log monthly savings balances. The app keeps these entries in its own storage on your device so they are still there the next time you open it.

We never receive this information. The app does not connect to the internet to do its work, so nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else.

What the app does not do

Saving and sharing your plan

If you tap Save to file, the app creates a file of your entries on your device and shows your device’s share sheet. Where that file goes (for example, the Files app, AirDrop or email) is entirely your choice. We do not receive it.

Links to other websites

The reverse mortgage page has links to outside sources. They open in your web browser only when you tap them. Those websites are run by other people and have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Backups

If you back up your device (for example to iCloud or to a computer), the app’s stored entries may be included in that backup. Backups are controlled by you and by Apple, not by us.

Deleting your information

Deleting the app from your device removes everything it stored. The Reset to defaults button returns the entries to their starting values.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. It does not collect personal information from anyone.

Estimates only

The app is an educational tool that produces estimates. It is not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Please see the notes inside the app, and speak with a qualified professional before making decisions.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a future version of the app ever collects information, this policy will say so before that version is released.
